I’m going to be straight to the point as usual here. Some business professionals will be upset with the tips I’ve written in this post but successful entrepreneurs will appreciate it’s simplicity.
Your business hero
Most of us wanting to start a successful business have business hero’s right? They may even be part of the reason you’re motivated to start your own business. Some of my business hero’s are Richard Branson, Mark Zuckerburg, Oprah Winfrey, Michele Mone, Kanya King, Jay Z, 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather – yes the last three I class as business men/personas – but that’s just me. You’ve probably got your own, who are they, who do you most admire in business? …………..
OK to the truth.
That role model, the person you admire in business, you’re never going to be that person. Don’t be negative Dwain, you can be whoever you want to be – right? … wrong. The important thing to remember is, you don’t need to be the next Richard Branson, Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce, whomever, because you are going to be the first you and if all goes well better than some of the aforementioned!
It’s about you
The most important thing to base your dreams or entrepreneurial ambitions on is you, what are your strengths, what are your weaknesses, what are you passionate about, what are you willing to work hard on (possibly for the next 7-10 years) before it becomes an ‘overnight success’. Your ultimate aim should be to create a name for yourself in the industry/sector you want to be working in. Your business success will be directly proportional to the amount of effort and possibly sacrifice you are willing to put in. Still interested in starting a business?
